"And what happened next was simply unbelievable!"
by Terry ini always sit in the same spot, just outside starbucks in a vestibule area with a table in the air-conditioned space.
i say "always," but not today.. somebody with two laptops and a table filled with business ledgers was in "my" favorite spot!.
so, i took a tiny wooden table inside the coffee shop on a long padded bench next to 3 other identical tables.. as the clickbait banner ads like to say: "and what happened next was simply unbelievable!".

A question the Chair (Mclellan) may want to ask G. Jackson
by Indian Larry inmr. jackson, we have heard testimony from mr spinks and mr. obrien that women will never have leadership positions in the congregation.
as i understand it mr. jackson, you interpret revelation 7 to mean that only 144,000 will go to heaven and that these 144,000 will rule the earth.
i also understand that your organization teaches that women are part of this "remnant" of 144,000. can you explain why jesus christ is willing to put women in leadership over the entire earth but you are not willing to permit them to have anything to do with helping victims of pedophiles in your congregation?

onthewayout I agree with you the RC has touched on theology but have focused on the problem areas in the JW church. I don't think His worship, will be to interested in talking about the 144000 or in other theology.
I don't bring it up only as a question of theology. Mr. McLellen focused on having women be part of the process. According to the both Spinks and OBrian that was going to be a NO-GO. They are not suited to sit in judgement. I just thought that they might have a hard time explaining Jesus Christ supposedly chose women to sit in judgement (and execute judgment) on the entire earth but they wont allow a woman in the organization to be of help with this.
It is clearly called for to help minimize the trauma on the poor girls that are be subjected not only to the abuse of the pedophiles but then to have to go through sharing intimate details of the abuse with men, men who are likely friends with the abuser. It is a messed up situation and anyone should be able to see that.
I for one would like to see Jackson explain why that will not be the case - and you know they will NEVER allow that. -

Mickey. Thanks for that. I saw the text on the page I linked and thought they had changed it. Just to be safe I have already saved a screenshot of the page showing that he will show. That way if he backs out I will at least have that.
Thanks again.

Does anyone have a screen capture from this morning of when he was scheduled to appear at 11:00 on Friday? I would love to have that if anyone had the foresight to capture it before they removed it from the site. -

Earlier this morning the Royal Commission website stated:
"The Royal Commission’s public hearing into the Jehovah’s Witnesses will recommence in Sydney on Friday 14 August 2015 at 11:00am.
It is anticipated that the hearing will hear from one witness, Mr Geoffrey Jackson, a member of the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses."
Now that has been changed. The new announcement is:
"The Royal Commission held a public hearing in Sydney from Monday 27 July 2015. This hearing will recommence in Sydney on Friday 14 August 2015 at 11:00am.
The public hearing will inquire into the Jehovah's Witnesses and Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of Australia Ltd."

Hang in there. I too almost lost my marriage to one of the best women in the world. Yes, she is under the "spell" of the governing body but she is still a wonderful person, loving mother and my best friend. When I first learned TTATT I almost lost all of that. We actually slept in different rooms for several weeks.
For me what worked best was this:
Tell brothers you are depressed and meetings increase your anxiety (which in my case was true)
It helps if you change halls and just never start going to the "new" hall.
Don't try to shove TTATT down their throat. It does not work. You have do do it little by little and they will only respond when they are ready, not on your time table.
I show her respect for her choices and she shows me respect for mine. I do not attend meetings, or assemblies, however I do go to the memorial once a year.
I got to this point over time. What friends I have in the organization are still my friends, we do things socially and we just don't discuss these issues one way or the other. In other words I don't try to "convert" them and they don't try to "convert" me. I can not say that this is the way that it should work for everyone, but for me it seems to be working fine. My wife and I (and my daughter) have a good relationship now we enjoy each others company and just try to live an let live.
That is my two cents.

I do wonder if he will appear live in the room with them or if he will appear via video link. If he appears via video link there will be more opportunity for snakes like Vin the tool to coach him from off camera. I can definitely see that happening. They could use his fathers illness as an excuse for him not to show up physically in the room.
Does anyone know if his father lives near Sydney where the hearings are or does he live in another part of Australia ?
